#LEJOGAH - the final 26 miles for Hartlepool's inspirational Lee Dodgson

On the eve of his final 26 miles on the #LEJOGAH challenge, inspirational Hartlepool lad Lee Dodgson posted an emotional update to Facebook.

"Just over a year ago I lost a very good friend under tragic circumstances. John was a huge supporter of mine, especially when it came to charity runs for Hartlepool Hospice/Alice House. The last 19 days have been the hardest of my life on so many separate levels. I'd love to tell you I've enjoyed it, but I haven't. I'm here for a purpose. Whenever things got tough, painful or just too much, I used to look at the sky and laugh and ask him to help. I honestly have no idea how I have gotten to this point, but I have. All that's kept me going was the fact I made a promise to myself to wear this t shirt on the last day. Tomorrow I will try to enjoy the last 26 miles proudly wearing this shirt. I dedicate all 827 miles to the memory of John Crompton. May you forever rest in peace my friend ❤"

Lee's wife Claire is calling for people to gather at the bottom entrance to Crimdon Dene at 2pm on Saturday 3rd June 2017 to run the last mile into town with Lee, or to welcome him when he arrives at Hartlepool Rugby Club. There will be a BBQ at the club from 1pm for those wanting to welcome him back, with all proceeds going to Alice House Hospice and LEJOGAH.

Lee is aiming to raise £40,000 for Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool by completing the Lands End to John O Groats run and Claire told of how proud she is of her husband.  Everyone at Smith & Graham would like to echo what Claire and countless others have said about Lee's desire, determination, guts, courage and selflessness. Smith & Graham are extremely proud and priveledged to have been given the opportunity to sponsor the team kits for this absolutely amazing challenge for an outstanding local charity.

Any donations for Alice House can be made through the website https://give.everydayhero.com/uk/lejog17
