Smith & Graham and HUFC - new three year deal agreed at Victoria Park

Smith & Graham have this week re-affirmed their commitment to Hartlepool United by penning a new three-year deal to remain as stand sponsors at Victoria Park.

We have been in partnership with Pools since back in 2011 and have this week pledged our ongoing support to the Club and its fans.  It means that our branding will continue to adorn the Rink End Stand at The Vic to back the Club’s efforts to regain a place in the EFL.

“We are really pleased to renew the deal,” explained Senior Partner, Martin Scarborough. “With the team going down last season, this is the time that local businesses like ourselves should be showing support to the Football Club.  It is crucial that we all do what we can to help the Club to try and get back in to the Football League.  I think it’s important for the town that we have a strong, thriving Club and hopefully this new three-year deal will help towards achieving that.  This partnership has been growing in strength since 2011 and it offers a great profile for Smith & Graham to have all three sides of Victoria Park seeing our details on the Stand on match day – it’s brilliant.”

As part of the new deal, Smith & Graham have extended the Pools Law initiative which means Pools fans can continue to claim a 10% discount on selected legal services and secure a 5% commission for the Club too.

“For me, it’s so humbling that Smith & Graham have stood by the Club,” Chairman Pam Duxbury commented. “It’s been fantastic to see so many business partners standing by us and we are very grateful for that support as we look to drive this Club back forward.  Smith & Graham are long-term partners of the Club and it’s brilliant that we can look forward to working with them closely to the benefit of our supporters over the coming three years and beyond.”

#LEJOGAH - the final 26 miles for Hartlepool's inspirational Lee Dodgson

On the eve of his final 26 miles on the #LEJOGAH challenge, inspirational Hartlepool lad Lee Dodgson posted an emotional update to Facebook.

"Just over a year ago I lost a very good friend under tragic circumstances. John was a huge supporter of mine, especially when it came to charity runs for Hartlepool Hospice/Alice House. The last 19 days have been the hardest of my life on so many separate levels. I'd love to tell you I've enjoyed it, but I haven't. I'm here for a purpose. Whenever things got tough, painful or just too much, I used to look at the sky and laugh and ask him to help. I honestly have no idea how I have gotten to this point, but I have. All that's kept me going was the fact I made a promise to myself to wear this t shirt on the last day. Tomorrow I will try to enjoy the last 26 miles proudly wearing this shirt. I dedicate all 827 miles to the memory of John Crompton. May you forever rest in peace my friend ❤"

Lee's wife Claire is calling for people to gather at the bottom entrance to Crimdon Dene at 2pm on Saturday 3rd June 2017 to run the last mile into town with Lee, or to welcome him when he arrives at Hartlepool Rugby Club. There will be a BBQ at the club from 1pm for those wanting to welcome him back, with all proceeds going to Alice House Hospice and LEJOGAH.

Lee is aiming to raise £40,000 for Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool by completing the Lands End to John O Groats run and Claire told of how proud she is of her husband.  Everyone at Smith & Graham would like to echo what Claire and countless others have said about Lee's desire, determination, guts, courage and selflessness. Smith & Graham are extremely proud and priveledged to have been given the opportunity to sponsor the team kits for this absolutely amazing challenge for an outstanding local charity.

Any donations for Alice House can be made through the website
